PASTOR
Elder Don L. Crowley was born in Kansas City, Kansas but grew up in Wichita, Kansas. He was raised by Godly parents that loved the Lord and lead by example. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at 8 years old. During his early Christian life, you could find Elder Crowley visiting the sick in the nursing homes and hospitals. He wanted to bring hope and share the love of Jesus Christ. He has a special love for older people.
Elder Crowley has been a loving and committed husband to Lady Sherry L. Crowley for over 40 years and a proud and supportive father of two sons, Jeremy and Jacob Crowley. He is known by his family as being committed, honest, trustworthy, and faithful.
He received his spiritual guidance and foundational teaching under the leadership of the late Elder John Berry. He is a teacher, mentor, and advisor with an emphasis on helping others by using Christian principles. When he gives encouragement to others, provides Godly advice, and shows love to all, he gives God the glory and praise for being chosen to serve His people.
Elder Crowley accepted his calling to the ministry in 1988. Prior to becoming pastor of First Church of God in Christ in 2013, he served as Second Assistant Pastor to Bishop I.B. Brown, and Assistant Pastor to Elder T. D. Sherrod.
Elder Crowley received an award for outstanding community service. He has hosted a Men’s Conference, been a committee member of the City-Wide Reach tent revival in Wichita, Kansas and is an active member of the Wichita Ministerial League. He believes what the word says, “And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” (Luke 14:23). His ministry is about winning souls and he believes there are no boundaries to doing so.
Elder Crowley has a love for others that society has labeled an outcast. The ones that others do not consider as important. These include drug offenders, drug users, individuals addicted to alcohol, individuals with sexuality identity conflicts, the homeless, convicted felons and individuals that are labeled as having a mental illness. He understands that if it was not for God in his life, he too could be living a life of despair. His desire is that all humankind become whole and this can only happen through Jesus Christ.
