Sunshine Band through the Church of God in Christ is to reach out to our children and offer an opportunity for them to receive salvation in their productive years (12 years old and younger). We desire to build a partnership between the home, the school, and the church in order to provide a spiritual foundation for each child by building character, faith, and self-worth.
Brotherhood is a ministry geared toward reaching men of all ages (10 years old to Golden Ages). It is our desire to minister to the whole man as we realize that men need to be built up and encouraged, especially in the world in which we live in today. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron” so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. It takes iron to sharpen an ax, likewise, it takes a man with great courage, holy ambition, and with strong morals and a spiritual life to sharpen or affect the lives of his friends and other men. Brotherhood also teaches young men to be men of integrity and allow God to direct their steps. This is done through mentorship, Bible teaching and specialized activities such as campouts, rap sessions and bowling.
Christian Women’s Council (CWC) through the Church of God in Christ is to educate women in the principles and practices of holiness and saintly living. Our council will serve as mentors for younger women, enabling them to establish and maintain Godly standards in church behavior, community relationships, home building, child development, self-improvement, and thus become soul winners.
The purpose of this ministry is to help the church become a “house of prayer” as instructed by Jesus by teaching others to pray and provide opportunities to pray with the focus on His Kingdom. To help each person to develop and deepen their prayer life and create an atmosphere where God can commune with believers and reveal His supernatural power. This ministry provides opportunities for intercessors to pray for the implementation of God’s purpose and plans. To educate people on the necessity of prayer and to answer the question “why do we pray?”
Purity Class through the Church of God in Christ is to reach Puritans (13 – 18 years old) by exhorting Biblical principles of Jesus Christ and providing instructions for our Puritans to cultivate Christian virtue, integrity, and social graces while preparing them to lead with dignity and high moral codes. It is also important that they feel love and see love in action.
